We own all of the domain names listed on DotThis. We guarantee that you will receive the transfer within 10 days or your money back. Most of the names are listed on GoDaddy.com.
Since we own all of the names on DotThis, we begin the transfer right away once the funds are received. If you use Godaddy as your name registrar, we can normally push a name to your account within hours. If you use another name registrar, it typically is completed within 2 – 5 business days, based on your registrar.
If you are using GoDaddy as your name registrar, we need your account number and the email associated with the account. If you use another name registrar, you can begin a name transfer request with them or let us know who your registrar is and we will walk you through the process.
Once you purchase a name from DotThis, the name is transferred to your own name registrar for you to own and control which you will have to pay annual renewal fees to your registrar to keep the name active. You can check with your registrar for those renewal fees that are normally $12 to $50 per year per name. There are no additional nor recurring fees to DotThis.
No. It is the buyers responsibility to file for a trademark, if you chose to do so. Please do your own research and get legal advice on how you should handle getting a trademark for the name, if possible.

We use a third party provider that will spread the payments over time up to 36 months, which they charge for this option and retain name ownership until all payments are made. The names that have this option will usually display on the name page.
Absolutely, you can use an escrow service, but the buyer is responsible for all of the fees. Over the years, we have used Escrow.com and others. It is your choice to use an escrow service, but we are not going to ruin our long-standing reputation over a transaction.
The names are fairly priced based on market conditions and over 20 years of experience. If you have a limited budget, please use our listings to find a name in your price range. Compared to the costs of setting up a brick and mortar store, these prices are a fraction of the costs in order to get up and running your business. I speak from experience as a current or previous owner of stores, franchises, and commercial buildings.
